In 2001, MFA was selected through a competitive tender to develop 26,000 sqm of waterfront land in Rozelle Bay, Sydney Harbour. The vision was to create a premier marine precinct — the epicentre of Sydney’s boating landscape — combining commercial functionality with high-quality design.

MFA led the master planning and design of the precinct, which incorporated dry storage for 600 power boats up to 11 metres, a marina, multi-storey car park, and mixed-use commercial, retail, and restaurant spaces. The scale and sensitivity of the site required detailed project coordination and a deep understanding of planning, environmental, and legislative frameworks. MFA provided ongoing design, project management, and commercial management services throughout all stages of development.

The project has now reached an intermediate stage of completion, featuring the dry boat store, new marina, and mixed-use retail and commercial spaces. MFA’s continued involvement with Sydney Boathouse since conception has ensured the project aligns with both the client’s commercial objectives and the broader vision for Sydney’s marine infrastructure.
